Fill-In Rest Area Technicians Needed (Pendleton, La Grande, Baker City Areas)

About the role

Help keep Oregon’s rest areas clean, safe, and welcoming! As a Rest Area Technician with the Oregon Travel Information Council (TIC), you’ll assist travelers and maintain essential facilities.

Responsibilities

• Keep restrooms, buildings, and grounds clean and safe
• Perform security checks to ensure visitor safety
• Handle minor repairs and maintenance
• Keep walkways, roadways, and parking areas clear

Requirements

• Reside within 60 minutes of the assigned rest area
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and reaching
• Pass a computerized criminal history check (adverse background data may disqualify)
• Complete I-9 documentation and confirm work authorization within three days of hire
• No visa sponsorship offered
• Employment is “at will”

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to perform basic repairs, janitorial tasks, and groundskeeping

Pay

$22.95/hour

Schedule

Fill‑in position with flexible scheduling—no set hours; work as needed, often on weekends and holidays; rest areas operate 365 days a year.
