Fieldwork Supervisor Pool AY 26-27: Department of Educational Psychology, SPED Programs

The Department of Educational Psychology at California State University, East Bay is seeking qualified candidates for a Part-Time Remote and Field-Based Supervisor Pool Position for the 2026-2027 school year. This position supports the Special Education Support Needs and Extensive Support Needs Credential Programs.

About the Role

The position involves providing supervision for candidates teaching or completing fieldwork experiences in Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties. Supervision can be either remote or in-person based on the delivery of instruction in the school district and the needs of the candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face or remote supervision for candidates teaching or completing fieldwork experiences in specified counties.
• Travel to teaching/fieldwork sites in specified counties.
• Contact with the candidate, cooperating teacher, and the site administrator to confirm your role as the onsite/remote supervisor.
• Review and provide feedback on filmed assignments using the GoReact platform.
• Complete observations and provide constructive suggestions.
• Attend CSU East Bay fieldwork supervisor trainings and meetings.
• Confer with school site administrators at the end of each semester to present the candidate’s progress towards meeting Teacher Performance Expectations.
• Be available for support and assistance between uploaded site visits.
• Provide information regarding candidates to the program coordinator as requested.

Qualifications

• A valid, unexpired California Clear Credential - Special Education (Education Specialist Instruction) authorized to work with students with Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Disabilities or the equivalent with additional authorizations.
• A minimum of 3 years K-12 Special Education teaching experience.
• Successful experience mentoring/coaching/collaborating with teachers in their first 5 years of teaching.
• Knowledge of special education legislation, mandates, and practices.
• Knowledge of research-based practices for instruction, assessment, and supporting positive behavior.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
• A Master’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred, but a BA with Educational Specialist experience will be considered.
• Experience working with adult learners.

Salary

The salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience, ranging from $5,507 - $15,211 per year, contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations.
