Irrigators

  • Performs general irrigation work of vegetable fields via drip/sprinkler irrigation.
  • Drip irrigation installation, repair and maintenance.
  • Sprinkler installation, repair and maintenance.
  • Starting and stopping surface and subsurface irrigation with syphon tubes.
  • Monitoring the elevation in head water by opening and closing irrigation gates.
  • Assisting in starting and stopping pumps for surface and subsurface drip irrigated fields.
  • Maintains and monitors vegetable fields for bird control, weeding, and trash removal.
  • Tractor driving activities for purpose sprinkler irrigation pipe.
  • Reports breakdowns and adheres to safety procedures and performance standards.
  • Required basic knowledge of driving a tractor, must pass a tractor safety training and demonstrate ability to operate tractor in a safe manner.

Van Driver

  • Transports workers from housing sites and pick-up points to work sites and back.
  • Processes paperwork.
  • Inspects, fuels, and cleans vehicles.
  • Paid at a minimum the AEWR for actual driving time, processing paperwork, cleaning, and fueling of vehicle.
  • May drive Van on public roads.
  • Job requirement: Valid drivers license (state issued), Class B Physical Exam, and registration as an FLCE driver.

Agricultural Equipment Operators/Forklift Operator

  • Drive and operate various farm equipment for tasks such as planting, cultivating, fertilizing, farming, and maintaining farms.
  • Attach and adjust farm implements to tractors such as discs, plows, lasers, rippers, cultivators, listers, and planters.
  • Ensure equipment is operating properly at optimum performances.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks before operating the tractor.
  • Monitor and drive tractors safely and efficiently over difficult terrain.
  • Have sufficient knowledge of tractor mechanics to make simple and minor adjustments and repairs to tractors.
  • Understand and operate the GPS operating system.
  • Required to have knowledge of driving a tractor, must pass tractor safety training and demonstrate ability to operate tractor in a safe manner.
  • One month work experience as an irrigator and agricultural equipment operator as defined in this application including harvest work.
  • Job requirement: Valid drivers license (state issued), Class B Physical Exam, and registration as an FLCE driver.
