About the role
Field Workers (Dates, Olives, & Citrus) are needed for agricultural equipment operators and forklift drivers, tree work, and all tree (Date Palms/Olive Trees, and Citrus Trees) work. This includes pruning, hoeing, de-thorning, pollinating, cutting centers/strands/thinning, harvesting, planting, cutting shoots, cleaning, and irrigating.
Responsibilities
- Pruning and hoeing citrus, date, and olive trees using hands, pruning shears, pruning loppers, and long handled hoes.
- De-thorning date palms with a curved knife while standing or on a raised platform.
- Pollinating date palms by removing husks, tying strings, and applying date pollen.
- Cutting centers, strands, and thinning bunches of date palms and olives.
- Tying fruit bunches and applying fruit bags.
- Harvesting fruit by identifying and picking according to color and texture, removing bags, counting, folding, and storing fruit.
- Cutting off fruit arms and removing shoots from date palms, olives, and citrus trees.
- Planting date palms, olives, and citrus trees by digging holes and placing plants.
- Cleaning date palms, olives, and citrus trees by removing shoots with shovels, crowbars, or long-handled hoes.
- Irrigating fields via drip/sprinkler systems, installing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation equipment.
- Operating and maintaining farm equipment such as tractors, discs, plows, lasers, rippers, cultivators, listers, planters, and GPS systems.
- Starting and stopping irrigation systems, monitoring elevation, and assisting with pump operations.
- Performing daily tractor maintenance checks, driving safely over difficult terrain, and making simple tractor repairs.
- Assisting with tractor safety training and demonstrating ability to operate tractors safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Ability to work on uneven ground and at heights up to 55 feet.
- Knowledge of driving a tractor and passing tractor safety training.
- Basic knowledge of tractor mechanics to make simple and minor adjustments and repairs.
- Understanding and operating the GPS operating system.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and performance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in agricultural work, preferably in citrus, date, and olive cultivation.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
Skills

- Salary range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
