Field Workers, Ag Equip Operators, Forklift Drivers

Responsibilities

• Tree Work: Pruning and hoeing citrus, date, and olive trees using pruning shears, pruning loppers, and long handled hoes.
• Date Palms: De-thorning, pollinating, cutting centers/strands/thinning, tying for direction, inserting metal rings, closing bags, and harvesting dates.
• Citrus Trees: Identifying and picking fruit, removing bags, cutting fruit arms, and performing groundwork tasks like planting, pruning shoots, and weeding.
• Irrigation: Checking and repairing drip lines, pulling weeds, checking pumps, and filling out checklists.
• Agricultural Equipment Operations: Operating tractors and forklifts to move platforms, trailers, and equipment; conducting daily maintenance checks; and assisting with tractor/forklift operations.
• Additional Duties: Cleaning up the field before, during, and after harvest; picking up trash; discarding cartons; and serving as a safety monitor when equipment is turning in the field.

Requirements

• Physical stamina and strength to work on uneven ground and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Knowledge of 8 Cal. Code Regulations Section 3437, 3456(b-c).
• Basic knowledge of driving a tractor/forklift and passing training to operate safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in agricultural work, preferably in tree care and irrigation.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
