Responsibilities
- Safety First - Must follow all Safety Rules and have a personal commitment to safety
- Repair, maintain and service fuel systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, AC systems, engine, transmission, drivetrain, and brakes for on/off road vehicles - per DOT and MSHA/OSHA requirements.
- Maintain the company supplied trucks and operate it in a safe manner.
- Communicate any equipment maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
- Perform quality repairs while taking ownership in your work.
- Perform inspections along with annual DOT inspections.
- Willing to assist heavy equipment mechanics on large projects and perform small repairs while onsite.
Qualifications
- Must be self-motivated.
- Able to climb in, on and around equipment.
- Able to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to communicate well with operations and meet their needs.
- Possess the ability to read and understand Equipment Maintenance Manuals.
- Must be responsible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Need to have excellent communication skills, a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Able to travel.
Requirements
- Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred.
- Five years of experience preferred.
Skills
- Technical experience preferred, training available.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems.
- Computer skills and use of diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of specialized tooling.
- Welding and heavy equipment knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose aftertreatment emission system.
- Basic welding skills desired.
- Crane knowledge a plus.
- Desire to take on new challenges.
- Small engine repair desired.
