About The Role

The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the principal training resource for a datacenter campus or metro location. In addition to providing training, job functions may include problem resolution, service enhancement, and process improvement as it pertains to security operations, safety, and training. The Field Training Officer reports directly to the Field Training Manager (FTM), and will work closely with other sites, regional, and headquarter leadership. This position will have no direct reports but will work closely with campus and sub-regional training leadership to assess employees, site, and campus needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and ongoing training at the site, campus, and country level.
  • Train and certify new security personnel; deliver refresher and sustainment training; ensure officers consistently meet required security standards.
  • Evaluate performance during training and maintain accurate training records and certifications.
  • Track training completion for all security personnel and maintain required training and safety documentation in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct recurring training audits, prepare and submit required reports, and handle critical or confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Promote safety awareness across the campus; champion global and regional safety initiatives; identify security or safety gaps and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Work with campus security leadership to support individual development plans for officers and provide feedback on competence, compliance, and morale.
  • Collaborate with local leadership, the PMO training team, and program leadership to develop site‑specific training plans, recommend onboarding and training schedules, and support compliance‑related tools and processes.
  • Communicate with client representatives and internal stakeholders, including leading in‑person and virtual training sessions, presentations, and group meetings.
  • Support additional tasks as needed to help meet ongoing operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the security industry, business operations, or a similar environment.
  • 2+ years of training or instructional experience.
  • Experience in datacenter environments and developing or delivering training is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Frequent travel required — approximately 50% of the time, including travel between sites (sometimes with limited notice) and occasional travel between regions or countries.
  • Valid passport and genuine willingness to travel.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (e.g., during emergencies or high‑priority events).
  • Reliable means of communication and transportation (public or private) to travel to and from work.
  • Legal right to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English and the common local language (where applicable).

Benefits

  • Collaborative and supportive team environment where contributions are valued and growth matters.
  • Dynamic environment supporting a prestigious multinational client account.
  • Exposure to global operations and cross‑regional collaboration.
  • Access to continuous learning, training programs, and career development opportunities.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the job location.
  • Willingness to complete pre‑employment screening, including background check and drug screening.
  • May require evening, overnight, or weekend work, particularly during emergencies or high‑priority events.
  • Work may occur in outdoor or inclement weather or environments requiring protective gear and heightened safety awareness.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (up to 12 miles/19 km per shift), climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (11 kg).
