Essential Job Duties
- Sowing and planting of lettuces, herbs and flowers, and micro greens.
- Monitor crops for water needs, nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, general care needs.
- Harvest and package crops with discernment for product quality.
- Understand and comply with all Food Safety requirements and guidelines.
- Deliver crops in timely manner and in premium condition.
- Aid team members, customers, and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Collect monthly water samples and prepare for shipment to lab.
- Accurately enter lab results into Nutrient Calculator Spreadsheet.
- Accurately dose raceways as per NCS recommendations.
- Inventory nutrients for ordering.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- One (1) year of related experience.
- Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred.
- Must be able to obtain NC pesticide applicator's license.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world class internal/external guest service.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; able to convey information clearly, concisely.
- Represents Biltmore professionally with internal/external guests.
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills; prioritizes work, and can adapt.
- Proactive, exercises good judgment; troubleshoots and problem solves.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to repetitively lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, and reach overhead and below.
- Works in greenhouse environment and outdoors in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions; exposure to dust, dirt, pollen, chemicals, and particulates.
- Manual dexterity with the ability to safely operate hand and powered gardening and harvest tools, farm tractor with loader, and standard transmission vehicles.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
