Field Technician w/CDL A

Role Overview

This role involves preparing gravesites for burial services, loading, transporting, and unloading burial vaults, installing vaults into graves, closing and lowering vaults, setting monuments, and maintaining daily reports. It also includes assisting with manufacturing operations in the plant.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing concrete burial vaults according to orders.
• Loading, transporting, and unloading burial vaults using the company vehicle.
• Installing vaults into graves.
• Closing and lowering vaults after the service may involve assisting the gravedigger in shoveling dirt to close the grave in some cases.
• Assembling and disassembling graveside tents.
• Preparing graveside services by arranging folding chairs, chair covers, and artificial grass.
• Serving as a representative of Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc., providing professional-safe conduct, appearance, and customer service.
• Maintaining daily reports, including pre-trip and post-trip logs.
• Following a maintenance schedule for the vehicle and equipment.
• Performing all work functions in a timely, correct, and safe manner.
• Communicating any service-related exceptions or issues to the plant manager immediately.

Qualifications

• GED & High School Diploma.
• Valid CDL Class "A" license is required.
• Must possess a clean driving record, hold DOT medical card and pass a DOT physical.
• Proficient in driving vehicles with manual transmission.
• Capable of covering a large travel area as needed.
• Proficiency in operating a backhoe.
• Competence in reading maps and understanding directions.

Physical Requirements

• Detail oriented.
• Full body movement, use of all senses, able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.
• Able to lift, stand, bend, stoop, twist, turn, kneel, and squat for short period of time.
• The job will be working outdoors and being exposed to all types of weather conditions.
