Field Technician – Security & Systems Installer

Richesin Engineering, LLC · Greater Bend Area · 3 wk ago
Management$20/hrFull-time

You don’t need years of experience for this job. You need to be dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working with your hands. Richesin Engineering is looking for a Field Technician to help install security cameras, door access systems, and low-voltage cabling at customer sites across Central Oregon. If you’ve done construction, electrical work, or just enjoy figuring out how things go together — this could be a great fit. We will train you. What we can’t train is showing up on time and doing good work. That part’s on you. This is a real career path. Many of our senior techs started with no formal telecom experience. We invest in people who show up and apply themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Install IP security cameras and video recording systems at commercial and government sites
  • Install door access control hardware — electronic locks, keypads, card readers, and door controllers
  • Run and terminate fiber optic and ethernet cable (fiber drops, structured cabling)
  • Mount and connect low-voltage equipment following plans and instructions
  • Work alongside experienced technicians on larger projects
  • Communicate professionally with customers at job sites
  • Document your work so the next person knows what you did

Requirements

  • Reliable, on time, and professional around customers
  • Comfortable working on ladders and in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces, equipment closets)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude — you know how to use a drill and take direction
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • No prior experience required — if you’re hungry to learn, we’ll teach you the rest

Bonus Points

  • Any background in construction, electrical, IT, AV, or security installation
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Experience with IP cameras, door access systems, or cable termination
  • Oregon low-voltage license (we’ll help the right candidate get licensed)

The Honest Part

Most people don’t apply to tech jobs because they assume they’re not qualified. If you’ve ever successfully assembled IKEA furniture, wired a light switch, or run an ethernet cable through a wall — you have more relevant skills than you think. We’re not looking for a decade of experience. We’re looking for someone who works hard and doesn’t cut corners.

Pay

$20.00/hr to start — with room to grow as your skills develop

Benefits

  • Full on-the-job training from day one — no experience required
  • Meaningful work on real infrastructure projects for real communities
  • A small, tight-knit team — no corporate nonsense, no micromanaging
  • A genuine career path into higher-skilled tech roles
  • Work across interesting sites — tribal facilities, government buildings, commercial properties
