About the role

The Field Technician is responsible for operational, mechanical, and instrument/electrical functions, such as inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This work includes supervising/directing field crews, maintaining pipelines in compliance with contracts, regulations, and safety considerations, coordinating with on-site contractors, and ensuring cost-effective and safe operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair of end devices and electrical equipment.
  • Circulate routine inspections of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of natural gas liquid pump and meter stations (to include mainline valves).
  • Conduct pipeline pigging, filter changes, and ILI tool runs, etc.
  • Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating NGL equipment.
  • Provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment.
  • Perform planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submit appropriate reports.
  • Read and understand P&ID's
  • Keep up-to-date with L&E skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training.
  • Maintain pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures.
  • Maintain One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & crossing.
  • Maintain records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirements.
  • Circulate routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (measurement meter, ultrasonic meter, flow computer).
  • Aid in pulling composite samples and verifying measurement meters.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Circulate routine inspection, such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, etc.
  • Operate PLC, HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves and actuators.
  • Keep up-to-date with motor control equipment.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Currently live or be willing to relocate to within 40 miles of the reporting location
  • 1 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
  • Willing and able to with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • Lift up to 50 pounds
    • Periodically pull/push doors open to move around the gas plant
    • Occasionally exert pulling force of 100 pounds
    • Occasionally climb A-frame ladders, including heights up to 45 feet for tank service
    • Regularly stoop, squat, kneel, and crouches for durations up to 30 minutes
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Respond to and/or remain on call based on on-call work schedule
    • Work inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
    • Work in loud environment
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
    • To wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.

Preferred

  • Completion of Tech school program
  • 3 or more years of experience working with Pipeline maintenance or operation, I&E, and mechanical pump experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logic or Siemens Control systems
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD)
  • Experience with repairing and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical problems on 240, 480, and 4160 voltage systems
  • Reading manufacturer specifications or blueprints to assemble or disassemble complex systems

Benefits

This position offers a base salary range of $81,000 – $123,200.
