About the role
Responsible for providing virtual and on-site operational and technical support using knowledge of natural gas processing equipment. The Field Technician collaborates with customers, performs mechanical repairs, and troubleshoots operational issues with natural gas equipment. They serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or onsite to ensure continuous operation of the Company’s field equipment. Travel may be required, depending on home location, and may occasionally include international travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical service and customer support in the field, including mobilization/demobilization and operation and maintenance of natural gas pressure regulation systems, conditioning equipment, compressors, CNG trailers, and other gas equipment as needed.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance on natural gas pressure regulation systems according to defined procedures.
- Monitor operating equipment using Scada telemetry systems.
- Collaborate with the technical support team to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and respond to their inquiries.
- Assist in remote monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Maintain spare parts and equipment inventory.
- Keep detailed time sheets and work orders to ensure accurate billing to customers.
- Document service and maintenance activities, including service reports, parts usage, and equipment records.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time or more, including international travel to Canada for training.
- Complete all mandatory safety training and adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety Program.
- Provide technical training and guidance to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- One (1) or more years of experience working with gas processing equipment.
- Proven experience as a Field Technician or in a related role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology or a related field.
Work Environment
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and climb for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate tools, equipment, or controls.
- Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain, various outdoor surfaces, and occasional obstacles.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify potential hazards and operate equipment safely.
- May require prolonged periods of driving or operating machinery.
Travel
Up to 25% travel may be required, including occasional international travel to Canada for training.
