Field Technician (Mechanic) (Pump, Power & HVAC)

About the role

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Field Technician (Mechanic) at our Advanced Solutions rental facility in Gaston, SC. This role involves using our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues faster. The position requires travel to customer job sites for preventive maintenance and repairs of various equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders
• Track machine service intervals
• Order parts
• Diagnose equipment issues using real-time data
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations
• Work individually or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment
• Aid in the training of lower-level technicians
• Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
• Stay updated on OSHA requirements (preferred)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school certificate
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
• Experience with calculations related to tonnage and schematics
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills
• EPA 608 certification (preferred)
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Physical ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
