Responsibilities
- Work under direct supervision of the Crew Chief to complete assigned field tasks safely and accurately.
- Absorb and assist with the setup and breakdown of survey equipment.
- Operate basic survey instruments (GPS, total stations, data collectors) with guidance.
- Absorb and assist in establishing control points and collecting field data.
- Perform basic field tasks such as rod holding, note keeping, and equipment transport.
- Support topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction layout activities.
- Maintain a safe work environment, including proper signage and equipment placement.
- Follow all company and project safety protocols.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment in good working condition and report issues.
- Communicate professionally with team members and the public on job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Flexibility to travel throughout Ohio to project sites is required.
- A willingness to learn survey equipment and field procedures is preferred.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety are essential.
- The ability to work outdoors in varying conditions is necessary.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- One to two years of land surveying experience or similar work is preferred.
- A basic understanding of surveying principles is preferred.
- Exposure to surveying, construction, or outdoor fieldwork is preferred.
- Coursework in surveying, civil engineering, or related field is preferred.
