Field Technician II
Overview
The Field Technician II at Electric Power Systems (EPS) inspects, tests, and maintains high, medium, and low electrical power equipment. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing equipment, preparing reports, and adhering to safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level testing of electrical power equipment independently under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean electrical equipment and components.
Qualifications
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
- Pass a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Able to work overtime and travel out of town for extended periods.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
- Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with voltage verification, contact resistance, insulation resistance test equipment, set up, read and understand one-line drawings, and understanding of equipment identification and hazards.
- Education and Experience: A bachelor's or associate's degree in electrical or electronic technology, or relevant military experience preferred. Two to four years of relevant industry experience.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is between $35.00 – $50.00 per hour, with factors such as location, experience, and qualifications affecting the starting pay.
