About the role
APM Steam, based in Woburn, MA, is seeking Field Technicians to join its growing team of steam specialists. Ideal candidates are hardworking, independent, reliable, self-starters with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Survey steam distribution systems to assess their operational effectiveness
- Conduct steam trap surveys to evaluate trap performance and identify opportunities for energy savings
- Collect system data using proprietary mobile applications
- Determine the causes of trap failures and address issues related to condensation, piping, pressure, and insulation
- Complete hands-on repairs and installations of steam traps to enhance energy efficiency
- Ensure projects are completed on time with high accuracy
- Provide excellent customer service
Requirements
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Familiarity with steam systems is advantageous
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and access to a vehicle
- Comfortable with up to 50% overnight travel during weekdays and minimal weekend travel
- Must reside in MA, RI, CT, NY, PA, or NJ
- US citizen status required
