Field Technician

About the role

The role involves performing scheduled services, managing inventory, and providing customer support in both door and window specific scenarios. The position also includes training new employees and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled Service per Service Ticket instructions
• Take pictures of Signed Service Ticket and send electronically back to Service Dept
• Submit completed and signed service Tickets upon returning to warehouse
• Pick and pull components, load truck, and perform 5S at the end of the day for door-specific tasks
• Receive spreadsheet from Service Dept for next day's service calls, complete service calls, and submit paperwork
• Map route, inspect service vehicle, and complete service calls for window-specific tasks
• Install drywall windows as needed, install screen packages when requested, verify proper function of sliding glass doors and windows
• Provide training to new Service Techs
• Work safely, report unsafe conditions, and maintain 5S standards
• Handle customer issues and interact with all levels within the organization

Requirements

• 1-3 years prior construction or technical experience
• Some knowledge of Millwork construction supplies
• Ability to think fast and manage time effectively
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Team player and clean driving record
• Customer service experience

Schedule

• Job requires some extended hours as needed
• Working in a construction site which includes load noises, high temperatures, and humidity
• Working in and around machinery/powered equipment and associated safety risks
• Interaction with all levels within the location and all their direct reports (as needed)
• Interaction with customers to resolve issues

Physical requirements

• Job sometimes requires lifting, standing, walking, and sitting for long periods of time
