Field Technician
About the role
The Mitigation Technician at Protect Environmental is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of radon mitigation systems. The position involves showing customers how to use their equipment, troubleshooting, building relationships, and adhering to company procedures. This role requires flexibility, strong time management, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and install radon mitigation systems including initial walk-through evaluations, pressure-filled extension tests, and fan installations.
- Occasionally install roof boots and perform light digging or excavation.
- Perform post-installation testing and diagnostics.
- Represent the company professionally and provide excellent customer service.
- Document job details according to company policy.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ year of construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC experience or building maintenance.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work within established deadlines and be punctual.
- Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Clean background and valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Primarily operates in a field environment requiring walking, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment.
- Requires good physical health and ability to perform hands-on construction work.
- Occasionally works in crawl spaces, attics, and on roofs.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours per day.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- NRPP certification for radon mitigation, or ability to obtain this certification within the established timeline upon hire.
- Experience in construction, electrical, plumbing, general labor, HVAC, or similar fields is preferred but not required.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Daily local travel in company vehicles is required.
