Field Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Field Technician to join our dynamic team at Nine Engineering. This position supports our engineering and design operations by performing on-site inspections, field data collection, installations, and maintenance activities for gas distribution and telecommunications infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections, field measurements, and condition assessments for gas and telecom infrastructure projects.
• Absorb and record field data accurately using company forms or digital tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans.
• Troubleshoot issues in the field and communicate findings to project engineers or managers.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, client specifications, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working condition.
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams while on-site.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Willingness to travel locally to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school background preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in field work, preferably in gas utilities, telecommunications, or civil construction.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic understanding of safety practices and field procedures.
• Proficient in using measuring tools, mobile apps, or field reporting systems.

Skills

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.
