Responsibilities
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Perform emergency response cleanup activities, including chemical and water spills, non-hazardous and hazardous waste, toxic materials, and equipment decontamination.
- Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, pressure wash, and handle drums to assist in cleanup.
- Operate cleanup equipment used in hazardous waste activities.
- Follow policies and procedures for control and storage of hazardous substances.
- Attend required safety training and comply with the Random Drug Testing Program.
- Perform housekeeping, custodial duties, and assist with facility maintenance, including unloading trucks.
- Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on uncontrolled standby.
- Work long hours and overtime during day, night, or weekend shifts.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
- Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
- Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

Physical demands
- Pushing/pulling: frequent daily basis.
- Twisting/turning: frequent daily basis.
- Lifting items overhead: frequent daily basis.
- Standing: 6-8 hours daily.
- Crouching/stooping: prolonged periods.
- Lifting/carrying: frequent daily up to 50 lbs.
- Work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Required to wear personal protection equipment, including Tyvek suits and respirators as needed.
- Performs labor-intensive activities in all weather conditions during any hours of the day or night.
