Field Technician

About the role

Lawrence Doors, Inc., a leader in the commercial door industry, and a part of Amarr / ASSA ABLOY Group (the global leader in opening solutions), is seeking an experienced field technician for our Baldwin Park Branch. The ideal candidate will be a foreman specializing in commercial and industrial door installations, service, and repair. Overtime work is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair commercial and industrial overhead doors
• Stick welding and installing edge of docks and bumpers
• Electrical work including installing motor operators and gate operators
• Run floor loops and troubleshoot high-speed doors
• Read and use basic measurement tools
• Ensure strong attention to detail, quality, safety, and documentation
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members
• Lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Climb extension ladders and operate scissor lifts and forklifts safely

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 3–5 years of experience using hand and power tools
• 3-5 years of commercial overhead door installation and repairs
• Stick welding experience
• Ability to install edge of docks and weld on bumpers
• Electrical experience with installing motor operators and gate operators
• Ability to run floor loops
• Ability to troubleshoot high speed doors
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and documentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods
• Experience with safe operation of scissor lift and forklift

Qualifications

• Willingness to work overtime
• Electrical and welding experience beneficial
• Willing to train someone with mechanical skills and quick learning abilities

Benefits

Compensation includes an hourly pay rate of $27.00 to $35.00 (DOE) plus medical, dental, vision, PTO, and a 401K with company match. Opportunities for overtime are available.
