Pay

$30.00 – $85.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, commission, and collect data on low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems (up to 500 kV), including moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
• Perform instrument transformer tests, power transformer tests (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, etc.), and electromechanical/static relay testing.
• Conduct cable testing: tangent delta, power factor, VLF, dielectric withstand (CCD).
• Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches and test switchgear/breakers at low, medium, and high voltage levels.
• Participate in emergency on-call rotation and respond promptly to customer emergencies when called.
• Maintain excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Travel locally and stay overnight as needed, with flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and respond to emergency calls.
• Work safely both independently and as part of a team, strictly adhering to all electrical safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in electrical engineering from an accredited two-year college or equivalent military experience (e.g., Army/Air Force electrical power production, Navy Seabees) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• NETA certification (Level III or IV) strongly preferred or equivalent skills/experience to obtain NETA certification.
• Preferred certifications: OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

• Capability to perform manual labor for 12+ hours per day.
• Strong hearing and broad visual field.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and adverse weather.
