About the role
As a Field Service Technician, you will provide unparalleled technical support for our national home improvement retail clients, delivering industry-leading service. This is an on-site position requiring travel within a 25 to 150+ mile radius daily, primarily serving retail locations around Syracuse, NY.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong client relationships.
- Work independently, demonstrating self-motivation, punctuality, and strong time management.
- Understand AC/DC and backup power concepts.
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve IT equipment issues within client scope.
- Document efforts, issues, and resolutions; close cases/tickets daily.
- Explain IT terminologies in a client-friendly manner using emotional intelligence.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on POS systems, Lexmark printers, access points, and thin clients.
- Support refresh projects and handle copper/fiber cabling with various terminating connectors.
- Work in physically demanding environments, including lifting (up to 25 lbs), bending, climbing, and walking extensively.
- Occasionally work at heights of 20’ to 25’ (lift equipment training provided).
Requirements
- One year of IT technical support experience.
- CompTIA A+ certification (preferred).
- Net+ CompTIA certification (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license (required).
- Working cell phone (required).
- Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g., Windows OS, OSX, Linux/Unix).
- Cash recycler repair experience (highly preferred).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is between $19.50 - $26.00 per hour, unless the local minimum wage is higher. Factors affecting starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
