Field Tech II

About the role
This position provides onsite technical support for a national home improvement retail client. A company vehicle, fuel card, and necessary tools are provided. Two weeks of onsite training alongside an experienced technician ensures smooth onboarding and familiarity with routes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite support for IT equipment including POS systems, desktops, printers, thin clients, access points, and network devices
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Perform installations, upgrades, and break/fix support
- Support copper and fiber cabling, including basic terminations
- Document all work, updates, and resolutions in ticketing systems
- Travel daily to provide onsite support at the following locations (route-based travel):
- W. Lansing, MI
- S. Lansing, MI
- Midland, MI
- Saginaw, MI
- Ann Arbor, MI
- Scio Township, MI
- Jackson, MI
- Work with remote teams to resolve escalated technical issues
- Occasionally work at heights (20–25 feet) and lift up to 25 lbs
Requirements
- 1+ year of IT technical support or field technician experience
- CompTIA A+ (required), Network+ preferred
- Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux environments
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals and IT hardware
- Experience with cabling (copper/fiber) is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is between $16.80 - $22.00 per hour, unless the local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
