What You Will Do

• Performs construction and maintenance work related to a Natural Gas Distribution system.
• Performs pipeline construction, installation, maintenance and removal work on transmission and distribution pipelines.
• Load, Unload, And Operate Tools And Equipment Including Pipe and crescent wrenches
• Pipe cutters and threaders
• Hammers and screwdrivers
• Picks, shovels, and rakes
• Air compressors and generators
• Plastic fusion irons
• Jackhammers and concrete saws
• Booms and chains
• Mini and large backhoe
• Tapping equipment
• No blow equipment
• Forklift
• Respirators
• Oxygen analyzer
• Perform Routine Maintenance On Vehicles And Equipment Including Fuel truck and check fluid levels
• Apply lubricants
• Change oil and filters
• Cleaning/adjusting tools
• Investigate Customer Related Orders And Emergency Situations Including Low Pressure calls
• Class 1 Leaks
• Blowing lines
• Fires/explosions
• Undetectable lines

What You Will Need

• Knowledge of use, function and maintenance of manual tools and equipment applicable to the position.
• Knowledge of application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution pipeline systems.
• Working Knowledge And Training Relative To Working in excavations and confined spaces
• Basic customer service activities
• Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
• Fusing plastic pipe
• Understanding of how to read and interpret maps, atlas pages, blueprints, and job orders.
• Ability to read and write fluently in English.
