Responsibilities
- Lead and build a high-performing, safe team of 12–20 field technicians by enforcing company quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate daily project schedules, job site readiness walkthroughs, parts/material ordering, and payroll accuracy.
- Monitor installation progress and drive efficiency through consistent site visits and communication.
- Manage manpower levels in partnership with union representatives, resolving employee relations and staffing issues.
- Support sales and project management teams with bid estimates, job progress meetings, and complaint resolution.
- Ensure all installation projects meet contractual, company, and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, including physical access to motor rooms, pits, and shaftways, to ensure quality workmanship and safety compliance.
- Implement company and customer requirements for product performance, reliability, and passenger safety.
- Enforce safety best practices and participate in continuous training programs.
- Train and mentor technicians on company processes, tools, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Foster open communication and teamwork among field staff and union partners.
- Manage daily logistics and resource allocation to optimize project delivery.
- Serve as a liaison between field teams, contractors, sales, project managers, and support functions.
- Work closely with union representatives to maintain positive labor relations.
- Cookordinate with quality, engineering, and service teams during project handovers and customer training.
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site challenges, customer concerns, and operational roadblocks.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and urgent requests from technicians and contractors to keep projects on track.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry, construction industry or related field
- Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing tradespeople
- Flexibility to be on call
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
