Field Support Engineer, Security Scanners - MD/VA/DC
Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz USA is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support our QPS Millimeter Wave Body Scanners. This position involves airport and security checkpoint demonstrations, installations, and onsite support for the US and Canada. It’s a unique opportunity to work with a new product in an exciting business field for Rohde & Schwarz. Ideally based in the DC corridor area, though other locations will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Rohde & Schwarz QPS Security Scanner sales team to support the QPS products in the US and Canada
- Perform site surveys to support delivery and installation of QPS systems
- Develop and present local seminars and customer training sessions
- Provide pre/post-sales support, including customer demonstrations, trade shows, and seminars
- Work independently, within a team environment, and with customers to achieve business objectives
Requirements
- BSEE preferred (or equivalent technical experience)
- RF/uW background preferred
- Experience supporting Aviation Security products
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- 50-70% travel required, including international travel to the Global Headquarters in Munich, Germany
- Must reside in the US, have U.S. Citizenship, and be able to obtain a US Public Trust clearance
Pay
The total compensation for this position is $89k–$119K, including base salary, variable pay (when applicable), and benefits. The range is determined by position, geographic location, and level. Individual pay within the range is based on factors such as location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure, and job-related skills.
