Responsibilities

  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct
  • Respond to alarms, calls of distress, or emergencies such as fire, injuries, or presence of unauthorized persons by calling police, fire departments, and local emergency response teams
  • Make periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons
  • Prepare clear, concise, accurate reports
  • Operate access control systems, utilize a computer for incident reports, navigate security software systems or applications, and use email
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance
  • Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications, and performing in a high-pressure environment
  • Perform other duties as directed by the security supervisor

Qualifications

  • Prior law enforcement experience, military and/or corrections experience
  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Two years of security experience
  • Law Enforcement Experience
  • Corrections Experience
  • Military Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
  • Valid state licensing, if applicable
  • 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email
  • Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high-pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands
  • Familiarity with report writing
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • Possess above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with client staff and the public
  • Trained in CPR and First Aid preferred
