Field Specialist II - Cementation
About the Role
Weatherford is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Specialist – Cementation to join our team in Odessa, TX. Depending on their level of knowledge and experience, the Field Specialist applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for a variety of products and services. Entry and intermediate roles receive direct supervision, while senior and fully-qualified roles provide direction to junior specialists, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and recommend improvements to product designs and procedures. Senior roles may also support research and plan assignments. Intermediate and senior positions act as the key interface with clients at the well site, managing service assignments and other Weatherford personnel.
Responsibilities
- Participates in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and reports issues promptly.
- Maintains equipment, facilities, and work areas in safe and presentable conditions.
- Monitors and analyzes data to recommend services and solutions.
- Performs job planning, preparation of tools and equipment, mobilization, job execution, and submits job-related data (e.g., reports, WPTS data entry, observation cards, service tickets, logs) for timely client invoicing.
- Available on a 24-hour call basis to respond to customer needs.
- Tests, operates, and maintains tools and equipment according to work instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Develops and maintains positive client relationships to ensure repeat business.
- Delivers superior service quality to clients.
- Manages inventory and supplies at the well site.
- Follows up on equipment failures with the R&M team and ensures failure reports are closed with clients.
- Contributes to or leads equipment failure investigations supporting Root Cause Analysis reports.
- Oversees, leads, and mentors Field Operations crew members (where role level requires).
- Acts as a technical advisor to management and interprets data for client representatives to optimize services (senior roles).
- Performs engineering checks on client locations, including hand calculations, software computations, or new computations based on latest data (intermediate and senior roles).
- Manages the installation of complex equipment and/or services in the field (senior roles).
- Performs other duties safely as assigned by the supervisor within physical job constraints.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas cementing.
- Must reside within the U.S.
- High School Diploma.
- Technical Certificate from an accredited Technical/Vocational School.
Skills
- Fundamentals of Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and/or Hydraulics.
- Mathematics, Basic Physics, and Chemistry.
- Computer fundamentals.
- Critical thinking, active learning and listening, complex problem solving.
- Strong reading, writing, judgment, and decision-making skills aligned with policies and procedures.
- Time management and quality control analysis to ensure product standards.

- Mathematical reasoning and spatial visualization for assembly, repair, or modifications.
Travel
This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 50-75%.
