Primary Function
The Technician I will perform electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups of high voltage substations under close supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear (protective relays, circuit breakers, power transformers, etc.)
- Perform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis
- Generate technical reports detailing services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommended
- Represent the company professionally with clients
- Communicate regularly with company management on project status and manpower/equipment scheduling
- Maintain safety as a top priority
Qualifications / Experience
- Possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- For Field Supervisor position, a Bachelor's degree is required
- Skills in electrical testing methodologies, standards interpretation, diagram reading, analytical skills, communication, and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC card
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work on feet, and work in hazardous or outdoor environments
- Travel to job sites and overnight travel up to 25%
Compensation / Benefits
- Compensation range: $60,000 - $190,000 yearly
