Field Service Technician - Southern Region

Essential Functions

• Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs logging machines.
• Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of logging machines.
• Prepares and maintains records and reports.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must have, or be able to obtain a CDL license.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving items over 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Frequent exposure to the outdoor weather elements.
• Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions.
• Necessary to work in noisy environments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7a.m. to 5p.m.
• Regular travel is expected for this position to and from customer work sites.

Required Education And Experience

• Two-year degree in heavy equipment technician program or three years of experience and/or training in heavy equipment repair and maintenance shop.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Preferred Education And Experience

• Hydraulics and electrical components.
• Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Speak English fluently.
