Field Service Technician - Reading, PA
About the role
The Field Service Technician position will perform microprocessor-based system start-ups and system troubleshooting at customers' facilities. Technicians in this position will be required to consistently demonstrate the ability to accept and complete assignments involving microprocessor-based systems and their peripherals.
Responsibilities
- Perform microprocessor-based system start-ups at domestic and international customer locations.
- Aid senior technical personnel in proving system/station configurations on in-house systems.
- Provide technical support to customers, sales representatives, and Service Technicians as required to maintain the highest possible level of customer support and satisfaction.
- Provide emergency (24-hour) technical support to customers and Service Technicians in their effort to troubleshoot system problems, traveling to the customer's site if necessary.
- Aid in performing microprocessor-based system upgrades and develop a working knowledge of all current microprocessor system feature software releases.
- Become proficient in the use of the SST, Console, SP2 & E3 Configurators.
- Become proficient in system troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in electronics or equivalent work/military experience.
- Ability to read color code charts and work in an industrial environment (can not be color blind).
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Completion of required skill elements.
- Six (6) months previous experience as a Service Technician I.
- Ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.
- Must be able to satisfy international visa requirements.
- To obtain BOSIET Certification & TWIC Credentials.
