Job Summary

The Field Service Technician (NETA 2) performs basic electrical inspections, tests, and measurements, and is responsible for data collection. The role includes setting up and removing test equipment, conducting basic acceptance and maintenance testing, and cleaning. The technician is knowledgeable about hazardous electrical energy procedures and requires limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance and maintenance electrical testing under limited supervision, including testing de‑energized locked‑out/tagged‑out equipment and accurately collecting and recording test data.
• Assist in setting up and removing test equipment for various testing activities; ensure proper handling, storage, cleanliness, and condition of equipment and tools.
• Write detailed reports on test results and findings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Perform basic electrical measurements under guidance of senior technicians and accurately record and report measurement data.
• Co‑lead projects and team members, sharing responsibilities with lead technicians to ensure project success from start to finish, including final client reporting.
• Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational goals and adapt to evolving business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required; Associate’s degree from an accredited 2‑year technical college or trade school preferred.
• NETA certification level 2 preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• OSHA 30‑hour, MSHA, NFPA 70‑E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED, Power DB training a plus.
• Must pass background/MVR check and pre‑employment, post‑accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, verbal and written communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and work occasional overtime as needed.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear mandated PPE (arc‑flash suit, safety glasses, hard hat, respirator, hearing protection, steel‑toed boots, etc.).
• Ability to walk, stand, climb, pull, push, sit, and work in cramped or confined spaces; exposure to dirt, heat, fumes, smoke, water, noise, vibration, grease, oil, and dust.
