Field Service Technician - M-F Dayshift

This role requires extensive travel throughout the Midwest region, up to 90% of the time, including overnight travel as business needs require.

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will maintain modular equipment in the field at customer sites and at the branch. You will perform problem solving maintenance for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, routine maintenance, cleaning and construction in the field of modular buildings. You will update and record information on company assets and systems, perform routine evaluations of work to be performed, and safely operate a Company provided vehicle (under 10,000 lbs GVW).

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance service, repairs and construction in areas including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, HVAC, roofing and electrical
• Responsible for safety, quality and productivity at all customer locations
• Maintain positive customer interactions to improve the company’s reputation
• Maintain inspection log(s) for equipment/vehicle and report exceptions; ensure equipment meets Company and safety standards
• Safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures
• Deliver high-quality output consistent with the Company’s construction standards
• Operate Company vehicle
• Read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures, work orders, work instructions and floor plans
• Work outside in variable weather conditions
• Use both manual and power tools following operating guidelines
• Install and repair equipment, and train customer employees on machinery maintenance
• Perform trial runs of machinery to ensure performance and quality meet specifications
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Prior experience in construction or related work; basic electrical, plumbing and flooring with an emphasis to learn HVAC
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to communicate with customers regarding work status and service concerns
• 90% travel and overnight stays throughout the Midwest Region
• Manual dexterity and ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
• Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and perform other manual labor activities

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC training and experience combined with an EPA certification
