Field Service Technician - M-F Dayshift
This role requires extensive travel throughout the Midwest region, up to 90% of the time, including overnight travel as business needs require.
About the role
As a Field Service Technician you will maintain modular equipment in the field at customer sites and at the branch. You will perform problem solving maintenance for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, routine maintenance, cleaning, and construction in the field of modular buildings. You will update and record information on company assets and systems, perform routine evaluations of work to be performed, and safely operate a Company-provided vehicle (<10,000 lbs GVW) to travel to various locations. Duties include installing and repairing equipment, training customer employees on machinery maintenance, and performing trial runs to ensure performance and quality meet specifications while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance service, repairs, and construction in plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, HVAC, roofing, and electrical
- Ensure safety, quality, and productivity at all customer locations
- Maintain positive customer interactions to improve the company’s reputation
- Maintain inspection logs for equipment/vehicle and report exceptions; ensure equipment meets Company and safety standards
- Safely perform all tasks and adhere to Company safety policies and procedures
- Deliver high-quality output consistent with Company construction standards
- Operate Company vehicle
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures, work orders, work instructions, and floor plans
- Work outside in variable weather conditions
- Use both manual and power tools following operating guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction or related work required; basic electrical, plumbing, and flooring with an emphasis on learning HVAC
- Ability to communicate with customers regarding work status and service concerns
- Valid driver’s license
- Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
- Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder, and perform other manual labor activities
- 90% travel and overnight stays throughout the Midwest Region
- May be required to drive extended distances to customer sites
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC training and experience combined with an EPA certification
