Field Service Technician - Level 2

About the role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required by the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of makes, models, and equipment
• Conduct diagnostics and make repairs to minimize equipment downtime
• Work in challenging remote locations
• Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management
• Work in a safety-focused environment with a team of professionals

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations)
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade

Skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

Pay

Base Pay Range: $24.05 - $33.06. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
