About the Role
Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking a Road mechanic/technician role.
This role performs preventive maintenance, perform diagnostics and make repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
The fleet varies by location but primarily include Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment.
Our specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform diagnostics on equipment.
- Make repairs on equipment to avoid downtime.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired.
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.

Pay and Schedule
- Base Pay Range: $24.05 - 33.06.
- Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
- You will become eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days from your start date.
- Paid time off: 12-25 vacation days depending on years of service, 5 sick days, 6 holidays, 2 half day holidays, 2 floating holidays, 1 inclusion day, 1 volunteer day.
