Field Service Technician - Level 2
About the role
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may feature large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Conduct diagnostics and make repairs to minimize downtime
- Work with a variety of equipment, including Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (e.g., large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas equipment) strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age and CDL license may be required in some locations)
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade
Skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) may be required based on location needs
Physical Demands
- Bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching
- Lifting 50 pounds or more
- Working indoors and outdoors as required by the job

Pay
Base pay range: $24.05 - $33.06 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
