Field Service Technician - Level 2

About the role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may feature large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct diagnostics and make repairs to minimize downtime.
• Work with a variety of equipment, including Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines equipment (e.g., generators, pumps, HVAC, oil/gas).
• Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (e.g., large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil/gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (CDL may be required in some locations; must be 21 years of age where applicable).
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, including troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) may be required based on location needs.

Pay

Base pay range: $22.85 - $31.41 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on factors including location, education, training, and experience.
