Field Service Technician - Jacksonville

About the role

NCR Voyix Corporation is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Jacksonville, NC. The position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment within an assigned territory to ensure customer operations are uninterrupted and customer satisfaction is high. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and replacing components on various NCR Voyix equipment, such as POS systems, self-checkout machines, and server equipment. The role requires adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the ability to resolve customer issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair equipment within an assigned territory.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace components on NCR Voyix equipment, including POS, self-service checkout, servers, and back office equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned products and diagnose problems, making repairs and replacements as necessary.
• Respond to customer concerns or problems by resolving them or escalating them to the proper associates.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and develop informal communication channels.
• Represent NCR Voyix in a manner that reflects positively on the company's image and reputation.
• Accurately report calls and activity, and track and report all expenses incurred in the delivery of services.
• Maintain an appropriate parts inventory and parts record keeping.
• Participate in the Shift Pattern for the operating area, including weekend and evening work as required.
• May be dispatched daily on a call-by-call basis or establish a daily schedule based on automated reports.
• May require prolonged travel, carrying and lifting parts of varying weights, bending/squatting, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, and participating in night shifts as needed.
• Work to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, superior quality outcomes, and safe operations.

Requirements

• Clean Driving License required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent years of related experience.
• Basic Computer skills to include Windows OS navigation and basic familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience in PC Hardware Maintenance and support.
• Works well with minimal supervision; good problem-solving skills; ability to pick up new skills quickly; ability to work under pressure; ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills required.
• High level of mechanical/electrical aptitude; experience on maintaining computer hardware (Desktops, Servers, peripherals), routers, networks, switches, hubs required.
• High level of personal integrity; support and promote teamwork and cooperative effort.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on-calls.

Qualifications

• Associates degree/certifications in a Technology Field preferred.
• Previous experience in NCR or similar equipment is a plus.
• Recognised qualification within the Electronics or IT Domain preferred.
• EPOS maintenance/install experience is preferred; strong desktop hardware experience may be considered if EPOS experience is limited.
