ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, hydronic, and controls systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, fan assemblies, motors, EC motors, VFDs, sensors, and control systems.
- Perform advanced field repairs utilizing brazing, soldering, and welding techniques on heat exchanger components, piping, structural members, and ancillary equipment in accordance with Kelvion procedures and applicable industry standards.
- Evaluate damaged equipment and determine whether field welding or brazing repairs are appropriate or if component replacement is required.
- Perform structural modifications and minor fabrication to support field installations, retrofits, and emergency repairs.
- Inspect completed welds and brazed joints to ensure quality, structural integrity, and leak-free operation.
- Mentor Field Service Technicians I and II.
- Cookordinate activities with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Project Management, and customer personnel.
- Provide customer training, technical presentations, and detailed service reports with repair recommendations.
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA, LOTO, JHA, fall protection, hot work permit, PPE, and customer safety requirements.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

PRODUCT SPECIFIC RESPONSILITIES
- Air Fin Coolers: gearboxes, bearings, fan balancing, laser alignment, vibration analysis, structural repairs, drive systems.
- Dry Coolers: EC motors, VFDs, controls, BMS interfaces, hydronic systems, pumps, commissioning, thermal performance.
- Plate Heat Exchangers: complete plate pack rebuilds, gasket replacement, pressure testing, thermal performance, CIP, piping, flow analysis.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Expert mechanical troubleshooting of rotating equipment and heat exchangers.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting including three-phase motors, EC motors, VFDs, sensors, and controls.
- Commissioning and startup experience for mission-critical cooling equipment.
- Excellent customer communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic service reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, P&ID, and control drawings.
- Proficient in oxy-acetylene brazing of copper and steel components.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick (SMAW) welding for field repairs and structural modifications.
- Ability to safely operate welding and cutting equipment in industrial environments.
- Knowledge of welding safety, hot work permits, and fire watch requirements.

- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
- Frequent exposure to noise level in the work environment that is usually loud.
