About the Role

Ring Power Corporation, a full-line Caterpillar dealer with headquarters in St. Augustine and operations across Florida and the Southeastern United States, seeks a technician to conduct repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on customer or company-owned equipment. This role emphasizes safety, technical proficiency, and collaboration within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all work safely, adhering to safety, environmental, and contamination control policies and wearing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Attend and complete required technician training classes; stay current with technical changes in the industry.
  • Maintain a necessary set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform repairs on equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair with lower-level troubleshooting.
  • Work neatly and improve methods, work areas, and safety standards.
  • Maintain field service trucks by following contamination control guidelines, performing general maintenance, and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Inspect components to maximize parts reuse and control repair costs.
  • Complete documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for repair times.
  • Monitor job expenses versus estimates and notify supervisors of cost overruns before job completion.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, support team efforts, and set a standard for conduct and work quality.
  • Contribute to team goals by accomplishing tasks on time while meeting safety and quality expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to comprehend written material and communicate effectively with employees and customers.
  • Proficiency in using computers, Microsoft Office products, and relevant dealer software programs (highly desired).
  • Willingness to update knowledge through frequent re-training (once or more per year).

  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Balancing, stooping, pushing/pulling/lifting 26-50 lbs, pushing/pulling/lifting over 50 lbs.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours/day): Sitting, inside conditions (protected from weather but not temperature changes).

Environmental Conditions

  • Frequently (3-6 hours/day): Outside environmental conditions (no protection from weather), extreme heat (above 100°F for over an hour), noise (requires shouting to be heard), vibration, hazards (e.g., moving parts, electrical current, high places, heat, chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation), exposure to oils.
  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Extreme cold (below 32°F for over an hour), air particulates/contaminants (requires respirator).
