Field Service Technician II

Responsibilities

  • Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
  • Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
  • Wiring circuit breakers.
  • Utilizing and accurately reading test equipment.
  • Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls.
  • Reading and plotting time-current curves.
  • Testing transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
  • Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB.
  • Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions of practical situations.
  • Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures;
  • Speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
