Field Service Technician (Fort Wayne)
- .
- Experience And Skills: list of qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent from 2-year college (preferred); At least 5 years of related experience and/or training (preferred); Mechanical assembly skills and ability to read blueprints/manuals/electrical schematics; Strong mechanical troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance skills and some electrical aptitude; Excellent communication skills paired with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers at all levels; Ability to work successfully with little to no direct supervision; Effective time management and cost control skills; A clean driving record is required (company car is provided); Availability to travel daily Monday to Friday within an assigned territory; Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs; Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications; Walking extended distances; Standing for extended times up to 75% of the day; This role requires up to 50% travel.
We need to decide which headings to use: "Requirements", "Qualifications", "Skills". The posting lumps experience and skills together. We could split: Requirements could be education and experience; Qualifications could be certifications? Not present. Skills could be mechanical, communication, etc. But we must not create sections with filler. We need to include only sections with real specific content. So we can have:
- About the role: includes company intro, job summary, location.
- Responsibilities: list of duties.
- Requirements: education and experience (Associate's degree preferred, 5 years experience preferred).
- Qualifications: maybe none? Could combine with Requirements? But we need to avoid empty sections. If we don't have distinct qualifications, we could omit Qualifications section.
- Skills: list of skills (mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, communication, etc). Could also include physical requirements (lifting, walking, standing) maybe under Skills or Requirements? Probably Skills.
- Benefits: Not mentioned explicitly. No benefits described. So we should not include Benefits section.
- Pay: Not mentioned. So omit.
- Schedule: Not mentioned explicitly (though mentions daily local travel Monday to Friday, overtime as required, up to 50% travel). That's schedule-ish but not explicit schedule like full-time, shift. Might be considered schedule info. The instruction: never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. The posting does mention "Daily local travel Monday to Friday to customer sites. Overtime as required." and "This role requires up to 50% travel." That's about travel schedule, not work schedule. Might be considered schedule? It's not explicit like "Full-time, 40 hours per week". Safer to omit Schedule section.
Thus we will have sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Skills.
We need to ensure we use
for each section heading. Use
- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose. We must not repeat job title as heading. The job title is Field Service Technician. Not used as heading. We must not include Job ID/requisition numbers. We must remove boilerplate: Diversity and Inclusion, Affirmative Action/EEO, Visit us at www.pregis.com, etc. We must preserve all substantive information. So we need to include all bullet points from Responsibilities and Experience And Skills. Let's extract responsibilities list exactly: From posting: "Job Responsibilities Deliver in-field support and optimize material delivery systems. Implement comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules, including machine tracking and monitoring of equipment and material utilization. Conduct hands-on demonstrations of Pregis systems and delivered end-user training on operational procedures and preventative maintenance. Troubleshot film, consumable, and machinery issues while generating detailed quality control reports. Ensure timely and thorough completion of all service-related documentation Perform thorough system inspections and advises clients on proactive measures to reduce unplanned outages and maintain workflow continuity. Executes debugging and correction of operating procedures and mentors others in troubleshooting methodologies. Coordinates and facilitates field testing of new products, updates, and change orders, analyzing equipment performance and delivering comprehensive reports and documentation. Maintains precise and current records for all co-managed parts and tool inventories. Consistently adheres to full compliance with established financial and operational policies and procedures. Available to travel upon request to provide support at other service locations across North America. Supports and develops Field Services staff through problem-solving collaboration and may oversee assigned customer or account portfolios." We need to split into list items. Each sentence seems a separate duty. We'll create
- for each.
Now Experience And Skills list:
"Associate’s degree or equivalent from 2-year college (preferred) At least 5 years of related experience and/or training (preferred) Mechanical assembly skills and ability to read blueprints/manuals/electrical schematics Strong mechanical troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance skills and some electrical aptitude Excellent communication skills paired with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers at all levels Ability to work successfully with little to no direct supervision Effective time management and cost control skills A clean driving record is required (company car is provided) Availability to travel daily Monday to Friday within an assigned territory Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Walking extended distances Standing for extended times up to 75% of the day This role requires up to 50% travel."
We need to separate into items. Some are combined sentences. We'll break logically:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from 2-year college (preferred)
- At least 5 years of related experience and/or training (preferred)
- Mechanical assembly skills and ability to read blueprints/manuals/electrical schematics
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance skills and some electrical aptitude
- Excellent communication skills paired with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers at all levels
- Ability to work successfully with little to no direct supervision
- Effective time management and cost control skills
- A clean driving record is required (company car is provided)
- Availability to travel daily Monday to Friday within an assigned territory
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Walking extended distances
- Standing for extended times up to 75% of the day
- This role requires up to 50% travel.
Now decide which go under Requirements vs Skills.
Requirements: education and experience (first two). Could also include clean driving record? That's a requirement. But we can put under Requirements as well. However we have separate Skills section for mechanical, communication, etc.
Let's define:
- About the role: company intro + job summary + location (including remote, travel, overtime).
- Responsibilities: list as above.
- Requirements: education, experience, clean driving record, availability to travel daily Monday to Friday within assigned territory, ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs? Actually lifting is physical requirement; could be under Requirements or Skills. We'll put under Requirements maybe.
- Skills: mechanical assembly, reading blueprints, troubleshooting, calibration, maintenance, electrical aptitude, communication, working with little supervision, time management, cost control, familiarity with Microsoft Office, walking extended distances, standing extended times, up to 50% travel.
But travel appears also in Requirements; we need to avoid duplication. Let's think: The posting mentions travel in both Experience And Skills and Job Location. We can keep travel under Requirements (availability to travel daily Monday to Friday within assigned territory, up to 50% travel). Or we could put under Skills. We'll decide to put travel under Requirements as it's a requirement.
Now we need to ensure we don't create sections with filler. All sections will have content.
Now format:

But we used inside. That's okay; still prose. Could also separate into paragraphs. It's fine. Now Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Deliver in-field support and optimize material delivery systems.
