What You'll Do
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and systems
- Aid in identifying and troubleshooting basic mechanical or electrical issues
- Follow maintenance schedules, checklists, and safety procedures
- Document completed work, inspections, and repairs
- Collaborate with senior technicians on repairs and maintenance tasks
- Assist in the layout and assembly of solar modules, arrays, mounting hardware, and electrical equipment
- Organize trucks and storage containers for the upcoming day, ensuring neatness and readiness
- Safely handle company funds and submit accurate biweekly expense reports
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 2 years' experience PV equipment and installation, preferably commercial or utility scale
- Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment and have the ability to read electrical plan sets and equipment manuals
- Previous experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, and ability to navigate numerous computer applications and technology independently
- Ability to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 lbs. frequently and work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.), these positions require working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs
- Capable of performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time up to 12 hours a day and have the ability to safely handle tools and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Ability to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for 300 lbs. and must meet OSHA fall protection standards for at height work limited at 300 lbs. and must also be able to meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs.
- Ability to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice with flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime along with overnight stay to support Tesla’s critical mission
