Field Service Technician - Construction Technology

Harnish Group Inc. is the Caterpillar Dealer in Central and Western Washington, Central and Eastern Montana, Northwestern Wyoming, Northwestern North Dakota and the state of Alaska. This position will be based in Kent, WA.

About the role

The Service Technician is the first-call for support and technical services, responsible for the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of 2D/3D technology products available through Trimble. Success in this position is heavily dependent upon the ability to understand, apply, and communicate machine control and site positioning technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform service work on customers' equipment including diagnostics, testing, repair, calibration, upgrading, and cleaning.
• Provide support and troubleshooting to customers and service technicians; answer questions and resolve issues involving the appropriate SITECH staff.
• Provide technical support as needed for prompt, accurate resolution of unique or complex issues.
• Escalate unresolved customer and service technician issues.
• Demonstrate and describe the functions and features of core products and supplies to advise customers on the best solutions for their businesses.
• Capture all pertinent customer information including purchase orders, job site information, serial numbers, firmware version, warranty information, and upgrade codes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in land surveying or in the construction industry with heavy machinery operation preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent customer service skills.
