Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Servicing Instrumentation: Ensuring sensors and measuring devices function accurately.
• Maintaining Control Valves: Regulating flow and pressure within the system.
• Maintaining Motors/VFDs: Managing speed and torque with electric motors and Variable Frequency Drives.
• Assisting in Control System Electrical Design: Designing and laying out electrical components for control systems.
• Configuring Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS): Ensuring efficient operation through configuration.

Qualifications

• Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and configuration.
• Ability to perform I/O checkout on installed control systems and document the checkout results.
• Ability to provide post-commissioning support to client's operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
• Significant travel required, with the ability to provide after-hours telephone support on a rotating schedule.

Requirements

• DeGreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific / technical field.
• Co-op or intern experience in an Industrial environment preferred.
• Familiarity and/or coursework with basic AC and DC electric circuits.
• Familiarity and/or coursework with computer programming concepts.
