About the role
The Field Service Engineer will install, start-up, commission and test Sidel Equipment at customer sites. They will also provide technical assistance, training, and after-sales services, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Test and evaluate equipment performance at customer plants based on technical, contractual, and safety specifications
- Handle, check, and transfer equipment non-conformities
- Prepare Job Progress Charts and technical reports
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sidel coordination plans, and customer rules
- Report after-sales opportunities detected at customer sites
- Perform technical activities, troubleshooting, and reporting deliverables
- Report to the Installation Site Manager for team activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in engineering (+2) or equivalent experience
- Fluency in English
- Specialization in auto-mechanic or aseptic (a plus)
- Spanish, Italian, or French (an advantage)
- Experience in the beverage/packaging industry (a plus)
- 2-3 years of experience in field activities
- Technical expertise in Mechanical, Automation (B&R, siemens, Elau & AB), Electrical, or Aseptic
- Valid driver's license
- Availability to travel up to 90% (including international locations)
Qualifications
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders for extended periods
- Working in confined spaces, on rooftops, and at heights, with appropriate fall protection and safety equipment
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating tools, handling parts, and working with delicate components
- Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold
- Driving and traveling long distances, including occasional assignments with short notice
- Wearing and utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and respirators
- Performing duties under time constraints and in high-pressure situations
