Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trash compactors at stores, restaurants and tenant facilities.
- Perform site repairs such as bailers, tarps and chutes.
- Work in the shop on assembling power units or other mechanical or welding tasks when necessary.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, maintenance activities and time spent on job.
- Provide detailed reports of the machine prior to and after the repairs are completed.
- Address customer concerns, answer questions and ensure satisfaction with the repair service.
- Develop effective solutions to resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
- Interface with PLC systems to keep equipment operational.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company.
- Attend or teach training sessions with other technicians.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience as a compactor technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environment and schedules.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and/or machines while keeping up with industry standards.
- Patience and ability to handle oneself in a professional manner in stressful situations.
