Field Service Tech Level 3
Position Summary
Pattyn North America, a subsidiary of the global Pattyn Group, seeks a Field Service Technician to join our Lifecycle Services Department. Reporting to the Service Department Manager, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and upgrading our automated packaging equipment across North America. Your role involves troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical issues, implementing minor program modifications, and performing preventive maintenance. You will represent Pattyn with integrity and ensure world-class service to our customers.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in industrial automation, or additional training at the Pattyn factory in Belgium and/or France.
Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, automation systems, or related discipline.
Technical Skills: Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft Suite applications; ABB and Fanuc robotics programming experience preferred; strong PLC/IPC skills for diagnosing software issues; ability to read and interpret electrical schematics; strong communication and customer service skills.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Install, commission, and start-up equipment at customers' locations.
Service and repair equipment at customers' locations.
Promote parts sales and equipment upgrades.
Train customers in operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
Electrical/mechanical diagnosis of complex issues related to Pattyn equipment.
Maintain and submit visit and expense reports.
Create accurate and timely service reports and expense reports.

Physical Demands
Able to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach with arms and hands. Good visual acuity to see computer screens and read fine print on a variety of reports. Work environment includes 90% at customers, primarily food production facilities, and 10% in office and warehouse settings.
